Man claims assault came after wife hit child

    A Bourbon man stands charged with first-degree domestic assault after reportedly causing serious injury to a woman on December 22.
    Zachary Paul Manson, 29, has been charged with the class A felony for allegedly striking his wife multiple times in the face with a closed fist, and causing serious physical injury.

BHS students collect 1,200 pounds of food

STUCO and FBLA hosted a canned food drive contest with the fifth hour classes. They set a goal of 1,000 pounds. The students and teachers went above the goal for a total of 1,238.2 pounds. First place went to Mrs. Garcia's class with 485.4 pounds, second place was the teachers with 278.8 pounds and third place was Mrs. Delmont/Mrs. Meade's class with 181.8 pounds. The winning class was rewarded with a pizza party.

    Seventy one members of the Bourbon High School Beta Club traveled to Springfield, Missouri on December 6-7 to attend the 70th annual Missouri Beta Convention. The state convention was held at the Springfield Convention Center.
