Council approves contract extension with Landis+Gyr for meter reading

           The St. James city council has approved a 10-year contract extension with Landis+Gyr for software that automatically reads meters for the St. James Electric Department. The contract gets more expensive through the first three years, before costs remained fixed for the remainder of the agreement.

City approves emergency response agreement with MPUA

           The St. James city council on Monday night approved entering an agreement with Missouri Public Utilities Alliance (MPUA) for an emergency response service agreement. This agreement would provide mutual aid services to the St. James Electric Department in the event of an emergency as well as services on planned projects beyond the ability of the department.

Choir dinner fundraiser is Saturday

The St. James High School choir department will be hosting their 20th and final annual Choir Dinner and Silent Auction this Saturday, November 19, with proceeds going to the St. James Choir Boosters. This year’s theme is Disney and will be held at the St. James High School gym.

High school celebrates Veterans Day

            St. James High School students celebrated Veterans Day with a special assembly on November 10, recognizing local veterans who attended. Guest speaker Sergeant First Class Brian Beard spoke to students about perseverance and how to take challenges to use to make progress.

Heyer named Volunteer of the Month

                  The St. James Caring Center and St. James Senior Center has named Connie Heyer Volunteer of the Month for November.
