City working on updating buildings

    The city of St. James is completing its renovation projects at the Recreation Center and Community Hall, which should both be ready to open in the coming weeks. The city will also be looking at improving its buildings long-term, such as at the police station, and will begin inventory of all its property in the parks.

April election will see three city council races

    Voters will head to the polls next Tuesday, April 6, to decide between two full-term council seats and one partial-term seat. Voters will also decide on a seat of Phelps Health Board of Trustees. St. James Board of Education positions, St. James municipal judge, and Ambulance Board will not have races due to the incumbents running unopposed.

Sports Club egg hunt is April 3

The annual St. James Sports Club Easter egg hunt will be held on Saturday, April 3. The event will once again be held at the Nelson Hart Park ball fields. Participants are encouraged to arrive early as the hunt is fast paced and ends quickly.

School district to hold open house at high school

    The St. James School District is celebrating the end of the construction projects undergone over the past two years with an open house. Residents will be able to tour the new facilities and view the many additions to the district.

St. James man charged with murder over fentanyl overdose

    A St. James man was charged with four felonies last week following a fentanyl overdose in Vichy, according to court documents filed relating to the case.
