Candidates interested in filing for open seats on the city council, school board, ambulance district, or municipal judge have until next Tuesday, January 19, to file. Filing has been slow over the holidays, but more names have been added to the April ballot.

St. James could soon have new pickle ball courts located in the downtown plaza after the city council voted Monday night to sell a piece of property located on Washington Street to the Underwood Foundation. Gene Underwood had approached the council about purchasing the property.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced December 30 that residents and staff members at nursing homes and long-term care facilities would soon have be provided COVID-19 vaccinations. The St. James Living Center is preparing to allow staff and residents to get the vaccine.
Noah Coleman Chapter, NSDAR, is scheduled to meet on Saturday, January 16 at 11:30 a.m. at Sybil’s in St. James.
