Chamber golf tournament deemed successful

    The St. James Chamber of Commerce held its first annual Golf Tournament fundraiser on Friday, July 9. Money raised during the event will go towards the cost of this year’s Grape and Fall Festival.

Council approves contract with MoGas Pipeline for natural gas

    On Monday, the St. James City Council approved a contract with MoGas Pipeline LLC, for pipeline reservation of natural gas for eight years. In the contract, both parties agreed to decrease the rate from $29.50 per dekatherm per month to $28.53 per dekatherm per month over the life of the contract.

Council amends food truck ordinance

    The St. James City Council has amended a food truck ordinance it held a first reading on in May, removing the need for a permit buyer to provide a menu and changing some of the ordinance language for clarity. After hearing concerns from one food truck owner earlier this year, the council agreed to change portions of the ordinance.

Groundbreaking held for new pickleball courts

    A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of a new proposed covered pickleball and half basketball court in St. James on Friday, July 9. Located at 110 West Washington Street, the facilities are being built by the Underwood Family Foundation, which purchased the property from the city earlier this year.  

Trinity Episcopal Church gets new pastor

    Trinity Episcopal Church has its new pastor, Reverend Kevin McGrane, filling the role left vacant following the passing of long-time pastor Steve Barber. Barber died in 2016 after serving as pastor since 2008.
