The James Memorial Public Library closed on Thursday, March 19, as part of efforts to slow the COVID-19 virus and to ensure the safety of patrons of the facility. Plans are to reevaluate the length of the shutdown on April 6, but books will still be offered to the community through curbside service for patrons.

This month’s featured artist at the St. James Senior Center is Joy Manthei. She is self-taught and her selections of landscapes, dog portraits, and close-up work will hang on the artist wall throughout March.
Kiwanis Pancake Day was held on Saturday, March 14, with members of the organization serving the public pancakes, sausage, and refreshments at the middle school. The annual event is one of the largest fundraisers the organization holds each year to raise money for its programs, which help children in the community.
The city of St. James has announced it will be showing a special meeting called for Friday to discuss the ongoing pandemic on Facebook Live.
On February 12, 2020 over 400 high school students and advisers descended upon Lebanon, Missouri for the Missouri Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) District 11 Leadership Conference.
