Graduates from the class of 1950 celebrated the anniversary of their graduation 70 years later. Gathering at classmate Gail Underwood’s home in St. James on July 4, the group shared stories of their time together and the many years that have passed since their graduation.
Several water main breaks occurred over the past week, with the city attributing the change of temperature as stressing the system with hot days affecting the water system. Public Works Director Lyle Thomas said many of the breaks took place at areas the city has experienced issues with in the past.
Construction on school campuses is moving forward quickly, with the exterior walls of the performing arts center being constructed, work on the early childhood center continuing, and additional classrooms being created at the high school.
Phelps Health will be offering free drive-through testing for COVID-19, including nasal swab and antibody testing, on Saturday, July 11, in St. James. The event is already completely booked with those wanting to get tested.
Edward Jones Financial Advisor Jake Shockley has opened an office in St. James, located in the old Casey’s building at 127 East James Boulevard. He is now offering financial services to help the community meet their long- and short-term financial goals.
