Trunk or Treat will return on Halloween and the St. James Parent Teacher Community Organization (PTO) have revealed this year’s route. The annual event has been moved to the high school agriculture building and participants are encouraged to view the route so there is no confusion the night of the event.

Old Iron Works Days returned to Maramec Spring Park over the weekend, drawing a huge turnout to the park. This was the 40th annual event, and while numbers were down from last year, a great came to the park to celebrate the way of life in the mid-1880s.
City Administrator Harold Selby updated the St. James City Council last week about possible natural gas cost increases the city could face by the end of the year. The council has been monitoring the issue, which stems from MoGas, which transports natural gas to several cities in the area, threatening a nearly 250 percent increase in the cost of gas transportation.
The St. James City Council held a first reading of an ordinance that would protect taxpayer and public funds during nuisance enforcement by pushing those costs on to the violators. As the city tries to deal with nuisance violations throughout the city, the ordinance was presented due to the cost of attorney fees that would be incurred during process.
