After sending out Census surveys to 450 random citizens, City Administrator Jim Fleming told the St. James City Council on Monday, February 10, there has been little interest in returning those forms. The city is making a push to get accurate numbers during the 2020 Census and Fleming said the city will be taking steps to secure those surveys.

Three artists are being featured on the artist wall at the St. James Senior Center.
A water main installation project is nearly complete on Scioto Street. Gullet Contracting has been hired to complete the installation of a 10-inch water main connecting from the water tower near the football field to the new school additions being constructed.
A special lecture will be held at the James Memorial Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 20, featuring St. James’ own Dick Elgin as guest speaker. The event, called “Shaping Missouri: Learn How Missouri Got Its Odd Shape,” will provide insight into the history of the state.
Three St. James High School welding students won awards during the 10th Annual Missouri Welding Institute’s welding competition on January 30. Dalton Mendenhall finished in first place, while Jason Ritter took fourth and Cody Romine sixth.
