Cat fight scheduled for Friday in Cuba

    They are no longer the season-opening opponent for each other, but I-44 neighbors St. James and Cuba will continue their rivalry on Friday.
    St. James steps away from Four-Rivers Conference action to travel to Cuba on Friday (7 p.m. kickoff). The Tigers come in 2-2 overall, but riding a two-game winning streak after outscoring Owensville 43-28 last week.

Paulus already making a big impact in college

    Former St. James High School girls’ soccer standout Quinn Paulus, who is a freshman for the Oxford College of Emory University women’s soccer squad this fall, was selected as the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Player of the Week two weeks ago.

Tigers beat Dutchmen, improve to 2-0 in FRC

    Sixty-seven was a serious number for Grant Conway and the St. James High School football team Friday night. Conway, the Tigers’ all-state receiver, caught a 67-yard TD pass to open the scoring on Friday, and his 67-yard interception return for another touchdown ended the scoring.

Lady Tigers reach Cuba bracket play

    The St. James High School volleyball team competed in the Cuba Tournament on Saturday. The Lady Tigers advanced out of pool play, but lost in the first round of the bracket finals.

    The St. James High School cross country team finished fifth in the boys’ varsity division of the Steelville Invitational, held on Thursday, Sept. 13.
    Host Steelville was the team winner with 26 points, while Sullivan was second with 41, St. Clair third with 77, Cuba fourth with 93, St. James fifth with 134 and Salem sixth with 136.
