STJ wrestlers face tough competition
The St. James High School wrestling team participated in the Moberly Spartan Duals over the weekend.
On Friday, Dec. 18 St. James lost to state powers Cameron 77-0, Jefferson City Helias 78-0 and Centralia 60-0. Saturday, Dec. 19 the Tigers lost to Bolivar 66-12.

The third-seeded St. James High School girls’ basketball team hit a second-half offensive lull and fell to top-seeded Jefferson City Helias Catholic 60-45 in the championship game of the Sullivan Peoples Bank Holiday Classic on Friday, December 18.

Riding big second and third quarters, the third-seeded St. James High School girls’ basketball team bowled over sixth-seeded Salem 64-35 Monday, Dec. 14 in the first round of the ninth annual Sullivan Peoples Bank Holiday Classic Tournament.
Tigers rally to beat New Haven
Logan Sparks, a 6-4 junior forward, scored the game-winning layup with :14 remaining following a steal by junior guard Chris Boone to lift the St. James High School boys’ basketball team to a 48-47 victory at New Haven in the Four Rivers Conference opener for both teams.
