It’s been an up-and-down season for the St. James High School football team, and this week is one final chance for the Tigers to polish up their game for the upcoming Missouri Class 3 District 5 Tournament. St. James ends the regular season by traveling to Pacific for its Four Rivers Conference finale on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

What was the biggest problem for the St. James High School football team last week against league-leading Union? A lack of dudes.
“For the first quarter and a half it was a dogfight,” St. James head coach Josh Rodriguez said of the matchup at Union on Friday, Oct. 12. “We kind of traded back and forth. Then we started running out of dudes.”
The season came to an end for the St. James High School softball team, as the fifth-seeded Lady Tigers lost to fourth-seeded Salem 18-4 in the semifinals of the Missouri Class 3 District 10 Tournament at Sullivan on Wednesday, Oct. 10. St. James season closes with a 6-16 record.
Both St. James Middle School girls’ basketball teams reached the championship games of tournaments last week. The seventh grade Lady Tigers remain undefeated after winning the championship of their home tournament, defeating Union in the finals 51-16, while the eighth grade took second in the Owensville tournament, dropping the championship game 38-37 to New Haven.
The St. James High School boys’ cross country team placed 12th in the Owensville Invitational, held on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Owensville City Park, while the SJMS boys finished first.
