Dr. Francisca Oboh-Ikuenobe named interim associate dean at Missouri S&T

The new year brings a new associate dean for academic affairs to the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) at Missouri University of Science and Technology. After five years, Dr. John Myers, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering at Missouri S&T, is stepping away from the post. Dr. Francisca Oboh-Ikuenobe, professor of geology and geophysics, will become interim associate dean.

Flame-thrower Hicks scheduled to be part of Rolla’s Cardinal Caravan stop

    Flame-throwing relief pitcher Jordan Hicks is one of four players scheduled to stop in Rolla this month as part of the St. Louis Cardinal Caravan.
    Weather permitting, the Cardinal Caravan #2 will be stopping at Rolla High School Saturday, Jan. 18, with the program beginning at 5:30 p.m. Doors will be open around 5 p.m.

Extension offering strength training class

Eat healthy – check. Get aerobic exercise – check. Do strength training – not so much.
The loss of muscle mass can sneak up on us without warning. At some point, we realize we can’t do the things we used to, but also don’t know how to counter the process. University of Missouri Extension has launched Stay Strong, Stay Healthy to help adults regain strength while improving their balance, flexibility and overall health.

Harris selected for fellowship

    Sean Harris, DNP has been selected to participate in The Community Health Center Executive Fellowship, a nationwide program for individuals currently serving in or aspiring to positions of executive directorship in community health centers.

PHA now accepting applications online

    The Phelps County Public Housing Agency (PHA) is now accepting rental assistance applications via a new online application website. The online application allows for greater accessibility of qualifying individuals. The online application can be found at
