Nuclear engineering students at Missouri University of Science and Technology have new support in finding new ways to cut carbon emissions and help meet global climate goals through scholarship funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, which is providing $30,000 for three nuclear engineering scholarships at S&T.

Local 4-Her tests skills at State 4-H Horse Judging Contest

The University of Missouri Extension State 4-H Horse Judging Contest, April 9, drew 70 4-H members to compete at William Woods University in Fulton.
Redeemer Lutheran Church volunteers for Russell House during SHINE! servant event

Redeemer Lutheran Church members volunteered Sunday for Russell House, the Rolla-based regional domestic and sexual violence shelter. Together, congregants created 15 moveout baskets containing supplies to help families reentering life outside the shelter. Each contained everything from cleaning supplies, to cooking utensils, personal toiletries and household amenities. Volunteers also wrote hand-written uplifting messages from the church to the families.
PHA’s annual plan open for comment
The Phelps County Public Housing Agency (PHA) will host a public hearing to accept comments on the PHA’s annual plan at 2 p.m., May 10 at MRPC, 4 Industrial Drive, St. James. The Phelps County PHA provides HUD Section 8 rental assistance to persons in the counties of Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps (outside the city of Rolla) and Washington.
