The Phelps-Maries County Health Department has seen the summer surge of COVID-19 cases decline in recent weeks. The spike was most prominent in mid-July, but active cases continue to trend downward.
It is an uphill battle to extract pollutants such as heavy metals, hydrocarbons and radioactive metals from industrial waste and water run-off. Researchers typically focus on cleaning and purifying wastewater to prevent those pollutants from entering the environment and damaging ecosystems. But a team of researchers from Missouri University of Science and Technology have devised a way to not only clean up heavy metals from the wastewater, but also facilitate recycling the chemicals used and reusing the metals that are extracted.
The University of Missouri Board of Curators today (Sept. 2) approved Missouri University of Science and Technology’s latest Campus Master Plan, which outlines Missouri S&T’s efforts to develop an Arrival District for campus visitors and create a more cohesive and connected campus that is well-connected to the surrounding community.
The Rolla Job Center will host its first Walk-In Wednesdays event on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., offering both employers and job seekers the opportunity to connect and do one-on-one interviews. As many employers are having difficulty finding new team members post COVID-19, the Rolla Job Center wants to provide as much assistance as possible.
