This spring, Missouri University of Science and Technology will offer professional development for geoscientists and mining, geological, metallurgical and other engineers to comply with new ethics and regulatory standards set by the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s (SEC) updated mining property disclosure rules.

The St. Louis Science center will celebrate National Engineers Week 2019 with a program called SciFest: Engineering Expo. Visitors are invited to see, touch and interact with student engineering projects from Missouri University of Science and Technology and other scientific organizations.
Executive directors and staff from Missouri’s five Local Development Districts joined more than 80 leaders from across the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) region and DRA staff for a training workshop in Memphis on Jan. 30-31. The group learned about collaborating to enhance economic development opportunities and build jobs in the Delta. The DRA region covers eight states, including Missouri, and 252 counties and parishes.
Recently several members of the Piece and Plenty Quilt Guild (PPQG) gathered at a guild workshop; learning the Braided Star quilt block pattern designed by member Dana Moore. Many of them will continue applying the techniques she demonstrated to create the Stars on Stage quilt, also designed by Moore. Her designs were published this past Fall in the Missouri Star Quilt Co. Mod Magazine, Vol 4 2018.
The Region I Homeland Security Oversight Committee (HSOC) awarded five grants to address needs with local law enforcement and emergency responders. Grants awarded totaled $65,511.42.
