Missouri S&T adjunct professor named Senior Member by National Academy of Inventors

Dr. Steven Jung, an adjunct professor at Missouri University of Science and Technology who developed a specialty glass used to speed healing of open wounds, has been named a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors, the NAI announced today (Tuesday, Aug. 11).

Primary election saw 30 percent turnout

    The August 4 Primary Election saw 30.71 percent of registered county voters come out to the polls to vote. Of the registered 28,796 voters, a total of 8,844 voted.

Myers named July Companion of the Month

    The Phelps County Senior Companion Program has chosen Patsy Myers as July Senior Companion of the Month.

Area COVID-19 cases continue to increase

    The Phelps/Maries Health Department reported area COVID-19 cases continue to spike and urge residents to stay away from large gatherings and if being tested, remain in isolation until they get results. The department said it is seeing people who are possibly infected going to work or gatherings, leading to the rise in area cases.

Pavement repairs scheduled for I-44 in Phelps County

    Missouri Department of Transportation maintenance crews will be working along Interstate 44 next week to improve the driving surface.
