Missouri University of Science and Technology announced the creation of the Miner Pledge today as part of the university’s efforts to help limit the spread of COVID-19 on campus and in the Rolla area. The Miner Pledge encourages students and employees to pledge to protect themselves, the campus and the community by taking action to “respond with noble efforts to overcome the challenges before us because that’s what Miners do.”

COVID-19 cases experienced in Phelps and Maries counties leveled off this week, after a recent outbreak at Great Circle near St. James. The Phelps/Maries County Health Department announced after an 18-day hospitalization, there are no active cases of COVID-19 in Maries County as of Thursday.
The University of Missouri System announced that seven members of the Missouri University of Science and Technology faculty earned President’s Awards, the highest honor bestowed by the system, for excellence in the areas of teaching, research, service and economic development. In all, 20 awards will be presented this year.
The number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise after a recent outbreak in St. James. More than 40 cases in Phelps, Maries, Dent, Franklin, and Pulaski counties have been epidemiologically linked to Great Circle.
