Students and faculty at Missouri University of Science and Technology are back from spring break and back to meeting virtually after COVID-19 effectively shut down classrooms on the Rolla campus and at the other University of Missouri System universities. The transition to online education has gone fairly smoothly, according to faculty and students.

ECC is providing as many of their medical supplies as needed to area hospitals in Washington, Sullivan and Rolla. Last week Phelps Health received gowns, gloves and masks from the ECC Rolla Nursing program. Nursing faculty member Julie Chirban (left) dropped off the supplies to Barb McNamara, who works at Phelps as a nurse leader and who is also an adjunct faculty member in the Nursing program.
Brandy Simpson was appointed as the new resident advisory member to the Phelps County Public Housing Agency (PHA) board of directors at the March 12 meeting. Simpson been an active participant on the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program since December 2016.
Specialists out of the Phelps County MU Extension office will be providing online programs in the month of April. Programs will include natural resources, youth, nutrition and health programs. These programs are available to anyone.
