Betty Jane Caruso

Betty Jane Caruso of St. Louis, Missouri was born on Oct. 11, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to Hermann and Marie (Edwards) Borne and passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the age of 96 years.

She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri where she attended school and worked different jobs following her schooling.

In 1954, Betty married Thomas Caruso.

Betty was known for her spaghetti and Italian dishes. She loved sewing, painting and making ceramics.

Betty and Tom loved traveling, making memories on trips to Denver and Georgia. After Tom’s passing, she continued her adventures with her friend, Pat. Together they traveled throughout the United States, with Santa Claus, Indiana, and MacIntosh Island becoming two of their favorite destinations.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Caruso; parents, Hermann and Marie Borne; and brothers, Hermann Borne Jr. and Stanley Borne.

She is survived by her children, David Caruso of House Springs, Missouri and Barbara Christian of Bourbon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Douglas Nitzsche of St. Louis, Missouri, Jennifer Morris and husband Chris of O’Fallon, Missouri, Neil Caruso of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Alan Caruso and wife Abigail of Pevely, Missouri and Cody Caruso and wife Angel of St. Louis, Missouri; seven great grandchildren, Sawyer Nitzsche, Oliver Morris, Charlotte Morris, Chase Morris, Ezekiel Caruso, Everlyse Caruso and Elliana Caruso; other relatives and friends.
