Betty Jo Evans of Steelville, Missouri was born on August 10, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Dec. 15, 2025 at the age of 69 years.
She graduated from Rolla High School in 1975.
While working at the Rolla Nursing Home, she met Barry Evans. They married in May of 1977.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Missouri Veterans Home for 13 years before working at Cuba Manor, and later Gibbs Nursing Home, where she eventually retired.
Betty Jo enjoyed skating, spending time at the river, tending to their animals and traveling. She loved scrapbooking and taking pictures. She loved cooking and baking for her family and was especially known for her spaghetti and mashed potatoes.
She was a collector of movies, Betty Boop, horses and Scooby-Doo items. She loved playing the game Aggravation and marbles.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Jameson; and three siblings, Minnie, Jeanette and David.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Barry Evans of Steelville, Missouri; children, JoAnn Southard of St. Robert, Missouri, Shantell Evans of Jacksonville, Florida and Barry Evans of Steelville, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren (and two more on the way); one brother, Billy Jameson and wife Diane of Darby, Montana; fur baby, Jabbi; other relatives and friends.
