Bobbie Lee Metzger of Cook Station, Missouri was born on Monday, April 27, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to Lonnie Metzger and (nee Warden) Myrtle Metzger and passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026 at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 9 days.

He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.

He served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1962.

He worked at Lueking Transportation for 43 years.

He was a member of Teamsters Local #618.

On Sept. 10, 1955, Bobbie married Betty Louise Timper in St. Louis, Missouri.

Bobbie was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at the shooting range.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Myrtle Metzger; parents-in-law, Joseph and Lillian Timper; siblings, Anita Metzger, Ernest (Audry) Metzger, Jeannie Porter, Mary (Chester) Lada and Monnie Farrsey; and sister-in-law, Deloris (Ed) Rhodes.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Metzger of Cook Station, Missouri; sons, Wayne Metzger of Warrenton, Missouri and Bryan Metzger and significant other Valerie Naylor of Cuba, Missouri; granddaughter; other relatives and friends.

Visitation held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. 

Funeral service held at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. 

Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri with full military honors.
