The Bourbon community is mourning the loss of Firefighter Jayden Nelson, 18, who died July 31 in Sullivan as a result of a non-duty-related auto accident.
Details of the accident have not been released.
Nelson, who graduated from Bourbon High School in May, decided to join the Bourbon Fire Protection District soon after.
Community members have commented about his love of cars and being outdoors, but also his deep care of people and stories of how he helped them.
