Phelps Health will hold its annual butterfly release celebration from 9 to 11 a.m. next Saturday at Huffman’s Flowers of the Field Garden Center. Participants will have the chance to release a butterfly in honor of their loved ones.
Proceeds from the event go toward Phelps Health Foundation Mission Fund, which helps provide support for hospice patients and their families. Last year, the event raised over $25,000 for patient services in the region.
The release of the butterflies symbolizes hope and the continuation of life, aiming to provide comfort and a moment of reflection for those honoring a loved one who has passed.
In order to release a butterfly at the event, attendees must purchase one in advance. There is also a chance to purchase a raffle ticket to win a handcrafted quilt made by Beth Dare. The quilt features butterfly print fabric with blue and purple panels.
