Carmen G. Tweedy of Grubville, Missouri formerly of Bourbon, Missouri was born August 4, 1970 in Crawford County, Missouri and passed away April 21, 2026 at the age of 55 years.
She grew up in Bourbon, Missouri and attended Bourbon High School. She later attended Jefferson College and went on to work in tax preparation for H&R Block until her vision diminished and she was no longer able to work.
After a brief marriage to Tom Tweedy ended, she met Chris G’Sell. Together they enjoyed riding motorcycles, attending club events, camping and spending time at the river. Carmen loved to be outdoors. She developed diabetes as a young adult and struggled with her health for many years, She loved scratcher tickets, game shows and puns. She was a wonderful storyteller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Sappington Sr. and Carole (Richter) Bandy; grandparents, Farris and Birdie Sappington and Walter and Viola Richter; nephew, Mitchell Jannings; and best friend, Ashley.
She is survived by her significant other, Chris G’Sell of Grubville, Missouri, siblings, Shelley Jannings and husband Mike of Bourbon, Missouri, Lisa Crawford of San Antonio, Texas, Paul Sappington Jr. and wife Missy of Bourbon, Missouri, Elizabeth Briggs and husband Scott of Henderson, Tennessee, Anna Sappington of Bourbon, Missouri, Vickie Wilson of Bourbon, Missouri, Eddie Byrd of Leasburg, Missouri and Sheila Pelland and husband Dave of Greenbush, Michigan; step-parents, Diane Sappington of Leasburg, Missouri and Jim Bandy of Greenbush, Michigan; puppy, Tippy; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday May 2, 2026 at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Leasburg, Missouri.
Memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Leasburg, Missouri.
Celebration of Life will follow in Jefferson County.
