Christopher Homer Swyers of St. James, Missouri was born on Sept. 23, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to Loyd and Reia (Manley) Swyers and passed away on Jan. 24, 2026 at the age of 69 years.
Chris spent his life in the construction industry and was a skilled carpenter by trade.
He was known for his super friendly personality and truly never met a stranger. Chris enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, and fishing, and he especially loved listening to what he called his “oldies” rock music from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Reia Swyers; sister, Kim Benedick; granddaughter, Melany Dollar; niece, Michelle McGowan; and nephew, Dillion McGowan.
He is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Snelson of Rolla, Missouri, Rebecca Snelson of Gaylord, Michigan, Ayla George of Springfield, Missouri and Kelly Dollar (Mike) of DeSoto, Missouri; brothers, Tim Swyers (Alicia) of DeSoto, Missouri and Jeff Swyers of St. James, Missouri; sister, Tabby Swyers of DeSoto, Missouri; grandchildren, Desmond Lane, Isaac, Nikita, Naomi, Barry Jr., Landon, Rosalynn, Makayla and Makenzie; other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
