It is a new day.
A new beginning.
Let us all agree to disagree.
Bourbon is a wonderful community full of caring people.
Let us all work together to make it better.
How often do we thank someone?
It takes many people to keep everything working. I am afraid I take so much for granted.
Every time our police and our firemen go on a call, they take their lives in their hands. I take them for granted and only think about them if I need them.
Let’s stop and start thinking about our friends and neighbors.
A smile or thank you doesn’t cost anything and it might make someone’s day.
We have many churches in Bourbon and everyone gets along. Why can’t we as individuals work together to make Bourbon a better and safer place for our children?
I have seen many changes in Bourbon, some good, some not so good, but it always works.
We need our police, fire department, water, electric, etc.
Take time in your busy day to thank them and remember them in your prayers.
I want to finish with a true story of a young girl. My father was one of the original 13 firemen. He weighed over 300 lbs., never missed a fire call. Came home wet, smokey and tired. He jumped on the fire truck as it passed his business. It didn’t matter what time the whistle blew, he went.
My father and mother believed in Bourbon and instilled that belief in their children.
Let’s move forward to make Bourbon even better.
Thank you,
Laverne Hartung Culver
