Ouch, Jackie! It seems that even though things go your way, you still feel the need to denigrate someone! Even though you and I have never met, other than being in the same commission meeting for a few minutes, you seem to have strong opinions about me.
Should I be honored by your attention?
Even though you claim to have insights about me, your comments in your 6/2/26 letter to the editor actually tell us more about you. Even though it seems, according to Library Board meeting attendance records, that you have never attended a board meeting (I could be wrong, but I’m sure you’ll correct me), you claim to have knowledge of what others have experienced. We do call that hearsay, by the way.
Oh, and even though you claim that I didn’t “bother” to hear the commissioners “describe numerous citizens expressing preference for other applicants.” Well, I did, and I have evidence that shows only three people, one of whom was you, emailed any commissioner. Even though in your email to the commissioners you claim to “not know any of the applicants personally.” in all three emails, claims were made that, of the four applicants, only two seem to represent the conservative values (did you mention We The People in yours?), the conservative values you deem necessary to run a library district.
That’s a fair opinion, but that’s making library board appointments political, which libraries are not!
Our library district represents and serves all the voters in the county, not just a “select few.”
The current tax levy was overwhelmingly approved on April 4, 2017, by 70.5% voters. In the eight years since the formation of the Crawford County Library District, it has been so fiscally responsible with local taxpayers (voters) money that it can now purchase and renovate a new building to greatly improve the library services to the Bourbon Community.
Are you mad about that? Or just confused.
