Crawford County elected officials will run unopposed in the upcoming Aug. 4 Primary and Nov. 3 General Elections.
There are nine county seats open and all candidates are Republicans.
Presiding Commissioner Steve Black, Circuit Court Clerk Karen Harlan, County Clerk Kim Gibbs, Recorder of Deeds Kim Cook, Prosecuting Attorney David Smith, Collector Pat Schwent and Treasurer Karen Sikes have all filed to keep their seats.
Black is currently at the end of his first term, while Smith and Sikes are running for their third terms. Harlan, Cook and Schwent are running for their fifth terms. Gibbs has filed for her first full term as county clerk after being appointed in January 2025 to finish out the remainder of former clerk John Martin’s unexpired term.
Division 2 Crawford County Circuit Court Judge Michael Randazzo and Associate Circuit Court Judge Patrick Horsefield are also running for another term. Both are unopposed.
Republican State Rep. John Hewkin of Cuba and Democratic candidate Ray Bruno of Lenox are running unopposed in their respective Primary in the 120th District state representative race.
Five candidates have registered to run for state auditor. In the Republican Primary, incumbent Scott Fitzpatrick of Shell Knob is being challenged by Gerald Wistrand Jr. of Oak Grove.
The Democratic Primary ballot has Quentin Wilson of St. Louis and Gregory Upchurch of St. Charles running. Dustin Coffell of Lake St. Louis is listed as the Libertarian candidate.
