Crawford County Extension Holds Annual Dinner

The Crawford County Extension Council held their annual recognition dinner at the UM Crawford County Extension office in Steelville on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Tracy Staples, Vice-Chairman of the Extension Council, presided over the event.

The Extension Leaders Honor Roll award was presented to Joel and Peggy Alexander. The Leaders Honor Roll program honors outstanding community leaders and volunteers who have excelled in supporting, educating and advancing MU Extension in their communities and counties.

New Extension council members, Jay Coleman, Tammy Zuzack, Wayne Richter and Ben Martin (not in attendance Sarah Woods) were recognized.

Rob Brandenburg with the Trail of Tears Remembrance Committee served as guest speaker. He shared insights aboutthe “One Hundred from One Thousand” campaign currently being conducted by the committee to help bring a trail of tears monument to the Steelville Community Park.

The wonderful dinner was potluck provided by the Extension Council members.
