The Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney’s office has filed felony charges against the following people. Each person is presumed innocent of the charges until proven guilty in a court of competent jurisdiction. The following charges are accusations, not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
Daniel Adlington, of Oak Forest, Ill., born in 1979, has been charged with Class D felony domestic assault second degree and Class D felony tamping with a witness to felony prosecution. He is accused of choking a domestic assault victim on or about April 25 and threatening them to prevent them from talking to a deputy.
Heather L. Wallen, of Steelville, born in 1993, has been charged with two counts of Class D felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a January 16 arrest in which she was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine. She is a prior and persistent drug offender and could face sentencing of five to 15 years if convicted.
Wayne A. Quick, of Salem, born in 1991, has been charged with Class E felony sex offender physically present within 500 feet of a park/playground/pool/museum. On May 3, Quick was allegedly found within 500 feet of the playground at Hood Park in Cuba.
Dalton W. Lundy, of Sullivan, born in 2000 has been charged with Class D felony stealing for allegedly stealing a wallet on May 25. He entered a guilty plea on June 16 and was sentenced to five years supervised probation.
Jessica J. Potoczeck, of Bourbon born in 1999, has been charged with Class D felony statutory rape second degree. On or about February 7, 2025, she is charged with having sex with someone under the age of 17.
Jasa L. Whitehead, of Bourbon, born in 1997, has been charged with Class D felony possession of a controlled substance. On or about May 29, she was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Kasey W. Nelson, of Cuba, born in 1990, was charged with Class D felony possession of a controlled substance after allegedly being found in possession of methamphetamine on or about May 26. He is a prior and persistent drug offender and pleaded guilty on July 14 and was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Larry M. Franks, of Sullivan, born in 1967, has been charged with Class D felony burglary second degree and Class E felony property damage first degree. He is alleged to have entered a room at the Meramec State Park hotel for the purpose or retaining stolen property on or about May 14. On July 8, a warrant was issued for his arrest after failure to appear in court on July 7.
Heather R. Syan, of Sullivan, born in 1992, has been charged with Class D felony possession of a control substance for allegedly being found in possession of fentanyl on or about July 8.
Alexander C. Bates, of Leasburg, born in 1991, has been charged with Class E felony domestic assault third degree for allegedly striking a victim in the face on or about March 25.
Kelsey J. Pierce, of Steelville, born in 1988, has been charged with Class E felony stealing, fourth of subsequent offense within 10 years. On or about February 13, she allegedly stole two black and blue stocking hats and a pair of gloves from Mobil on the Run in Cuba.
Richard A. Whipp Jr., of Cuba, born in 1992, has been charged with Class D felony assault second degree, unclassified felony armed criminal action, and Class E felony unlawful use of a weapon – exhibiting a weapon. On or about June 1, Whipp allegedly attempted to cause physical injury to a victim by producing a knife in their close proximity after threatening them.
Kevin L. Brake, of Bourbon, born in 1961, was charged on June 26 with the Class E felony of failing to register as a sex offender.
Bryan A. Lane, of Bourbon, born in 1994, has been charged with the Class E felony of driving while revoked or suspended.
