Steelville – Filings for the April 7, 2026, elections closed Dec. 30 in Crawford County and Steelville. A list of final candidate declarations are now available.
Crawford County 911 Emergency Services Board of Directors has three seats open. Incumbents Thomas Mounce, William Harlan and Christina Barton filed to retain their seats this upcoming April. Both Mounce and Harlan have a four-year term, and Barton’s seat has a one-year term.
Steelville Municipal Elections have four open seats. Incumbent Terry Beckham and Duane DeRennaux are the two candidates vying for the two-year mayoral term. Incumbent Curtis Crouch and Harry H. Martin filed for the two-year term Alderman Ward 1 seat. Incumbents for Alderman Ward 2 Lula Patterson and City Marshal Mike Sherman refiled and are unopposed. Patterson’s Alderman Ward 2 seat carries a two-year term, and Sherman’s city marshal seat holds a four-year term.
Steelville R-3 Board of Education has three seats open. Four candidates have filed for the three-year term. On the ballot, they will appear in the order of: Brad Brooks, Rachel Martin, Kyle Grayson and Michael Retkowski.
Steelville Ambulance District Board of Directors incumbents Brenda Brooks and Larry Riegel filed to retain their two terms.
Steelville Fire Protection District did not return a call requesting an updated candidate filing list for the Board of Directors, a six-year term seat. Only one candidate previously filed for the seat, which was incumbent Dale Hurd.
