Cuba Chamber’s of Commerce's annual awards banquet is Friday, nominees announced

Cuba Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Awards Banquet is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at Recklein Auditorium to celebrate the people, businesses and organizations that serve the Cuba community.

This year’s theme is Roaring Twenties on Route 66. There will be a live auction, dessert auction and fifty-fifty raffle for attendees to enjoy. Tickets can be purchased online at cubamochamber.com.

Awards will be presented in the following categories: Lifetime Impact, Business Longevity, Public Service, New Business, Educator of the Year, First Responder, Entrepreneur, Beautification, Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Young Woman of the Year and Young Man of the Year.

The following are the nominees: 

• Lifetime Impact Award: Missy Mullally, Linda Bast, Jim Barnett, Dori Stubblefield, Donald Fuchs and Ray Mortimeyer.

• Business Longevity Award: Hayes Shoe Store, Riviera Maya, Swinger Sanitation, Copling Appliance, Peoples Bank, 3rd Generation Salon, Frisco’s Bar and Grill and Versa-Tags.

• Public Service Award: Covenant Praise Church of God, Cuba Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, Cuba United Methodist Church, Cuba Animal Control and Shelter, Deer Creek Church, Ben Scharfenberg and Bruce Nebel.

• New Business Award: Rocky Creek Bulk Food, Deli and More, Diamond L Driveway Sealing and All-American Food Company, LLC.

• Educator of the Year Award: Aurora Pfeiffer, Chris Case, Alexis Nowland-Treece, Kyleah Stahlman, Kelly Hatton, Melanie Weber, James Steiner and Kaleb Cason.

• First Responder Award: Betty Post, Ryan Bussell, George Rathgeber, Cyndi Mercer, Jimmy Ludwig, Eugene Fox, Tammy Peart, Doug Shelton and Cuba Ambulance Crews.

• Entrepreneur Award: Ben Campbell (Scooter’s Coffee), Caitlin Rosemann (Rosemann Dental), Joel Raber (Countryside Farm + Market), Ryan Meiser (Missouri Hick Bar-B-Que) and Erik Lowes (Lowes Landscaping). 

• Beautification Award: Lowes Landscaping, Mother Road Boutique and Rich’s Famous Burgers.

• Woman of the Year Award: Diana Lea, Caitlin Rosemann, Ciara Kitchen, Cyndi Mercer, Tracy Staples, Jill Barnett, Alexis Nowland-Treece, Dori Stubblefield and Missy Mullally. 

• Man of the Year Award: Joel Escamilla, Dan Eidson, Dennis Copling and TJ Maxwell.

• Young Woman of the Year Award: Josey Licklider, Gabby Garms, Cadynce Basham, Saige Hanes and Bailey Weber.

• Young Man of the Year Award: Kaiden Hess, Caden Nix and Cameron Carnal.
