Delores Esther Brown of Stanton, Missouri was born on July 25, 1935 in Stanton, Missouri to James and Maud (Woodcock) Heady and passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the age of 91 years.

She grew up and attended school in Stanton and Sullivan, and she graduated from Sullivan High School in 1953.

She married Donald D. Brown on June 20, 1953 in Sullivan, Missouri.

She spent more than 30 years with the Ramsey Corporation. Over time she worked into her role as an inspector. When the company transitioned its operations to St. Louis, she retired in 1982.

In her retirement years, Delores enjoyed trips out West to explore the Rockies and national parks.

She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes and cookies, sewing, crocheting, and music. While she worked at Ramsey, she was known for making cakes for her co-workers.

She enjoyed hosting many family gatherings, including summer reunions and Christmas dinners. Delores was also a talented seamstress who was entirely self-taught.

She enjoyed playing the piano and listening to music, especially on the radio and from her record collections.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Brown; parents, James and Maude Heady; three brothers, Jim “Boy” Heady, Bob Heady and Jack Heady; infant twin great granddaughters, Aspen and Paisley Sutton; parents-in-law, Herbert and Bessie Brown; son-in-law, Arnie Sutton; and brother-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Walker.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Sutton; grandchildren, Amy Branson, Devin Branson and wife Lindsay all of Stanton, Missouri and Austin Sutton and wife Brittany of Sullivan, Missouri; five great grandchildren, Riley, Wesson, McKennon, Kyle and Arrow; sibling, Yvonne “Bonnie” Walker of Stanton, Missouri; four sisters-in-law, Glenda Heady of Stanton, Missouri, Rita Heady of Bourbon, Missouri, Anna Heady of Stanton, Missouri and Nancy Brown of St. Clair, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.

Services were held at noon on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Susan Youmans officiating.
