Doris Charlotte (nee Barteau) Wissmann of Pagedale, Missouri was born on Monday, March 7, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to Emil F. Barteau and Charlotte (nee Madsen) Barteau and passed away on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 12 days.
She was raised in the St. Louis, Missouri area, growing up in the Pine Lawn and Jennings communities. She graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Fairview High School in Jennings, Missouri.
On February 14, 1948, Doris married Marvin F. Wissmann in St. Louis, Missouri.
Doris accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
For many years she was a secretary at Normandy Junior High School. She served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts. Doris had a passion for auctions and antiquing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Charlotte Barteau; husband, Marvin Wissmann; parents-in-law, John and Ida Wissmann; sister, Ruth Schlottach; sister-in-law, Adele Cross; and brothers-in-law, Jake Wissmann and Alfred "Jasper" Wissmann.
She is survived by her sons, Tom Wissmann of Pagedale, Missouri and Don and wife Lois Wissmann of Leasburg, Missouri; grandchildren, Kim and husband Jim Fitzroy of Finksburg, Maryland, Jon Wissmann of Wichita, Kansas and Paul and wife Megan Wissmann of Plainfield, Illinois; great grandchildren, Brody Fitzroy, Rowan Fitzroy, Callan Fitzroy and Ethan Fitzroy all of Finksburg, Maryland, Sawyer Wissmann, Brynn Wissmann, and Caleb Wissman all of Plainfield, Illinois; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
