E. Jane Skouby was born August 30, 1941 in Safe Missouri to Lester and Juanita (Southard) Spurling and passed away April 28, 2026 at the age of 84 years.
She attended St James High School. She went to nursing school and became a Registered Nurse in 1962.
On Oct. 27, 1962, she married Clifford Skouby at the High Gate Baptist Church.
After living in Long Beach, California, they returned to Rolla, Missouri where Jane worked at the Rolla Hospital as an RN.
The family moved to St. Louis in the fall of 1972. She worked at Christian NW Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1993.
After retiring, Jane became a Missouri real estate broker. She started a Property Management company, Scoby Realtors, before any others in the St. Louis area.
Jane enjoyed oil painting and was able to colorize several black and white pictures of the family. She also loved to read, knit and porcelain painting.
She was preceded in death by son, Bevin Skouby; parents; sister, Stella Davis; and brother, Kenneth Spurling.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Clifford Skouby; four children, Denae Skouby, Devin Skouby (Mary Pat), Derick Skouby (Heather) and Devonna Vollintine (Bryan); nine grandchildren, Thomas Skouby, Nora Skouby, Hadley Skouby, Gwen Skouby, Jensen Skouby, Eastlynn Skouby, Brietta Skouby, Caden Skouby and Kellen Skouby; two brothers, James and John Spurling; two sisters, Mary Rinehart and Betty Hulet; three sisters-in-law, Deanna Ridenhour, Della Ridenhour and Debbie Prater (Ray); other relatives and friends.
Memorial gathering will be held from 3-5 p.m. on June 19, 2026 at Archway Memorial Chapel in Hazelwood, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at High Gate Baptist Church in St. James Missouri.
