Edna “Rose” Bartlett of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, July 28, 1943 in Portage Des Sioux, Missouri to William Joseph Broeker and Ruby Leona (nee Johnson) Broeker and passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 6 days.

She attended school in St. Charles, Missouri and worked as a machine operator for John Harlan Check Printing.

She married William “Bill” Robert Bartlett on March 28, 1980 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Rose was a member of the Lutheran church. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—dancing, music and Elvis Presley. She spent time in her bowling league and enjoyed the outdoors through fishing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Broeker; mother, Ruby and husband Tony Schobernd; parents-in-law, Elmer and Lois Bartlett; siblings, Richard Broeker, Melvin and wife Shirley Broeker, Harlan Broeker, Viola Broeker and Lee and husband Charles Potts; brother-in-law, R.L. Smith; grandson, Justin Parrett; and dogs, Bo, Petie and Buddy.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William “Bill” Bartlett of Steelville, Missouri; daughters, Kimberly and husband Johnny Harmon and Tamara “Tami” and husband Johnny Evans both of Steelville, Missouri; siblings, James and wife Karen Broeker of Troy, Missouri, Mae Smith of Fort Worth, Texas and Bill and wife Carol Broeker of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; sister-in-law, Glenda Broeker of St. Charles, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Brandi and husband Jared Housewright, Jarod and wife Jennifer Harmon, Jaime and husband Joshua Buckles and Codi Harmon all of Steelville, Missouri, Joshua and wife Wendy Dotson of Lothian, Maryland and Tara Dotson of Hollywood, Maryland; 14 great grandchildren, Waylen and wife Chasity Housewright, Whitley Housewright and fiancé Derek Richards, Wiley Housewright, Trevor Gilmore, Trenton Gilmore and fiancé, Brooklynn Lay, Carsyn Ziegler, Douglas and wife Jess Harmon, Gabriel White, Kaitlyn Harmon, Jersey Jones,  Austin Dotson, Alisyn Dotson, Everly Quade and Gunner Quade; eight great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.

Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. 

Burial is at Steelville Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.
