The October meeting of the Evening Star 4-H Club met on October 7, 2025. President Peyton Bullock called the meeting to order. TJ Clark led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Riley Gibon led the 4-H Pledge.

Twenty-one members answered roll call to “What candy would you like in your trick or treat bag?” Evie Cahill and Roselia Puma led the group signing Happy Birthday to the October birthday people. Roselia led “Affirmation,” and Evie led “Do, Re Me.” Velton Nisbett then led the game “Copy, Name, and Move.”

Ronan Cahill, Secretary, read the September minutes. Velton Nisbett reported on “Schoolhouse Rock,” a Fine Linen musical, which was attended as a group by several members.

The club approved the club goals for 2025-2026 and discussed the poster hunt for the National 4-H Club week. Members voted to reimburse $10 to each member who completed all projects last year. The Phelps County 4-H clubs are sponsoring a barn dance for all county members. Members made plans for a Friendsgiving meal at the November meeting with the meal at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7 p.m.

After the meeting adjourned, members visited stations manned by officers to get a copy of club requirements, goals, meeting dates and roll call, received information about what we recycle for fundraising, signed up for committees for the year, and earned 4-H bucks for visiting each station.

In announcements, the next meeting is scheduled for November 4. Roll call will be “What's your favorite Thanksgiving dessert?”
