Graduation for Cuba High School’s class of 2026 is rapidly approaching and Wildcat seniors will have plenty of chances to celebrate with their fellow classmates and in the community.

May 7 and 8: final exams for seniors during school/ Scholarship night at 6 p.m.

Before the fun really begins, Cuba’s seniors will take their final exams on May 7 and 8 for their last high school assessment. May 7 is also scholarship night at Cuba High School. From 6 to 7 p.m. in Mike Voight Gymnasium, a variety of scholarships will be awarded to deserving outgoing seniors.

May 14 at 6 p.m.: Senior Parade

The Wildcat’s senior parade will take place at 6 p.m. and will start at Cuba High School. Seniors will travel north on Highway 19 and turn around at Mobil before heading back to school. The parade will drive through the center of Cuba and attendees are encouraged to cheer on the graduating class as they take a victory lap around town.

May 14 at 7 p.m.: Spring Band Concert

Graduating band members will hustle back from the parade to the high school to participate in the band concert at 7 p.m. While this is a concert from high school students in all grades, it’ll be the last chance for the seniors to perform in front of their family and friends.

May 15 at 8:30 a.m.: Senior Hallway Parade/Graduation practice

This event should be a mix of celebration and practice for their upcoming graduation. Students will be able to parade around the hallways they know all too well for the final time amongst their fellow students, before rehearsing for graduation. Graduation practice is closed to the parents and public. If parents would like to watch the hallway parade, they would need to stand outside on the sidewalk in front of the middle school. It will be posted on the school Facebook page if they would like to view it there.

May 15 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.: Baccalaureate

Student-led prayer and scripture reading will take place in high school commons. Pastor Tommy Miller, president of the Ministerial Alliance will be attending and helping graduates focus on their future and coming into the next chapters of life through prayer. A guest speaker is scheduled to encourage them with scripture as well.

May 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.: Wildcats with Distinction Ceremony

This first year ceremony is based solely off of grade point average. Students who achieved Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude will be recognized and those students will nominate a teacher that has had an impact on them.

Graduation on May 16 at 7 p.m., Project Graduation 9 p.m.

Graduation will take place at the Wildcat Field of Pride beginning at 7 p.m. Cuba’s seniors submitted a speech to be considered and two will be selected to present their speech. Students graduating will have their name read as they walk across the stage and there will be time for photos with the graduates following the ceremony. Project Graduation will take place from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next morning as a safe and celebratory way of commemorating the class of 2026.
