Folky Fish Run will be held on Saturday, May 30 at Maramec Spring Park, with options for participants to run or walk one mile, 5K, 10K and half marathon races.
Those who want to participate can register online at mseracing.com/folkyfishrun.
The race is held in conjunction with Folky Fish Fest, a bluegrass music festival held at the park the same weekend. Registration for the race does not include festival admission, but race participants will receive a discount code for Folky Fish Fest tickets.
Packets can be picked up the day before the race from 3 to 7 p.m. at St. James Winery, and will also be available from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Participants are encouraged to pick their packets up early if possible.
Parking is available throughout the park, and a $7 per car parking fee will be collected at the gate.
The half marathon begins at 7 a.m. and the 10K, 5K and one mile races will follow, starting at 8 a.m. Much of the route will include dirt and gravel roads. Water and electrolyte drinks will be available on the run for all athletes and there will be light refreshments at the finish line.
Spectators are welcome and MSE Racing will have a sign making table for kids, yard games, vendor and food booths and music for everyone to enjoy.
When the majority of racers have finished, an award ceremony will be presented. The top three male and top three female finishers for the 5K, 10K and half marathon will receive awards, as well as the top two in each age group for male and female in the 5K, 10K and half marathon.
Half marathon runners have three-and-a-half hours to complete their course. Those running the one mile, 5K and 10K races have two-and-a-half hours to complete their respective courses.
In the case of inclement weather, the race will be canceled or the course could be modified for safety.
