DENT COUNTY — A Rolla woman died Nov. 19 after a UTV crash on a county road west of Salem, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I report, the crash occurred at 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 19 on Dent County Road 2050, about one mile west of County Road 2055. Investigators say a 2008 Polaris General UTV traveled off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected, then overturned, ejecting the driver. No passengers were listed in the report.
The driver, 28-year-old Elena Patricia Duncan of Rolla, was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. at the scene by Dent County Coroner Benjamin Pursifull. The report notes that she was not wearing a safety device.
Duncan’s death marks the fourth fatality for Troop I for the month of November and the 27th for the year.
Duncan was a 2015 graduate of Cuba High School. Her obituary can be found in this week's edition.
