Free rides offered to Crawford County residents

MOCA Transit now offers free rides through volunteer drivers in Crawford County. The current funding covers low-income residents (up to 200% of poverty), senior 62+, people with disabilities, and those seeking treatment for opioid use disorder.

Rides are available for seniors 62+ who no longer drive, those who feel uncomfortable driving in conditions like night and weather, those affected by financial hardship, anyone injured or recovering from an accident, those with blindness or low vision, or transportation to treatment or rehab.

According to Allan Collins of Crawford Working Together, MOCA Transit is a door-to-door ride service that helps people in rural areas get to essential places like medical appointments, counseling, jobs, schools, or even the Senior Center. It's already operating in other parts of Missouri, and it has changed lives. Bringing this opportunity to the residents of Crawford County is allowing transportation gaps for those facing mobility challenges to disappear.

To schedule a ride, you can call 573-765-3183 or contact Missouri Ozarks Community Action at 573-765-3263, visit their website at www.moca.org/MOCATransit or email mocatransit@mocaa.org.

Bringing MOCA Transit to Crawford County is a program about working together to drive change. This happens through volunteer drivers, partners from businesses, and organizations, community fundraisers and donations.
