The St. James High School girls’ golf team hosted Waynesville, Belle and Lutheran St. Charles at the St. James Golf Course Wednesday, Oct. 1. It was St. James Senior Night, and St. James’ two seniors, Bryanna Hash and Ella Philyaw had strong performances.
Hash tied for first place individually, shooting a personal-record 44 while Philyaw tied for third with 46.
Also last week the Lady Tigers dropped a dual meet at Washington 184-225 Monday, Sept. 29.
This week St. James was to compete in the Sullivan Partner Scramble Tuesday, Oct. 7 and play in the Class 2 District 1 Tournament Thursday, Oct. 9 in Washington. Other schools in District 1 include Duchesne, John Burroughs, Lutheran South, Lutheran St. Charles, Maplewood-Richmond Heights, St. Louis Notre Dame, St. Clair, host St. Francis Borgia, Ste. Genevieve, STEAM Academy, Sullivan, Winfield and Wright City.
The top two finishing teams, and the 13 other individual placers, from the District 1 Tournament move on to the Missouri Class 2 State Tournament, to be held Oct. 20-21 at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield.
