The St. James Caring Center needs volunteers to assist with Commodity Day, a monthly food distribution that serves an average of 225 families in the St. James School District. With approximately four members per household, that means nearly 1,000 individuals receive food allotments each month. In a community with a population of 3,935, this represents roughly one-fourth of St. James residents.
Please take a moment to think seriously about that need—and about how you can help. Volunteers are needed on the third Thursday of each month to help fill grocery carts in the warehouse. The work does not involve heavy lifting, and the commitment is just two hours a month, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Those two hours make a meaningful difference for neighbors who are facing food insecurity. The reward of knowing you helped provide food and encouragement to local families is truly powerful.
