Henderson to speak at Lincoln Day Dinner

Missouri State Senator Mike Henderson will be the keynote speaker at the annual Crawford County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner being held on Friday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Heartland Farms in Bourbon, Missouri.

Henderson represents the 3rd Senatorial District which includes Crawford, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Washington and part of Jefferson County. He is also a former member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing St. Francois County (District 117) from 2017-2025, where he served as Speaker Pro Tem from 2023-2025.

He graduated from high school in Jackson, Missouri in 1978; received his bachelor’s degree from Murray State University in 1982; completed his master’s degree from Southeast Missouri State in 1990; and received his specialist certificate in 1992. Prior to running for office, he worked as an educator administrator from 1983-2014 and served as both a public school teacher and a coach.

In 2024, he received the endorsement of Missouri Farm Bureau’s State Political Action Committee (PAC) for his senate run. Richard Detring, St. Francois County PAC Trustee, stated at the time that, “Mike understands the challenges that rural Missourians face, such as improving our roads and access to quality healthcare.” Detring added, “He is known for tackling tough issues, like protecting the integrity of the Missouri Constitution from out-of-state money and interests, and he is a proven public servant and thoughtful legislator.”

Henderson currently serves on the following Senate Committees: Appropriations, Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy and the Environment, Education, Local Government, Elections and Pensions.

Born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, he resides in Desloge with his wife, Cheri. They have two children and one grandson.
