Only one local entity has had people file for election.
The 911 Emergency Services Board has three running for election, one for each seat open on the board of directors. For District One, Thomas Mounce is running for reelection. District two has two seats open. William Harlan is running for reelection to the four-year term seat, and Christina Barton is filing for reelection to the one-year term seat.
Both the Steelville Ambulance District and Steelville R-3 School District have open seats, but no one has filed for candidacy.
Steelville Ambulance District has two seats open on its Board of Directors. The first seat is in District One–the City of Steelville. The second seat is in District Four–Courtois/Liberty Township, North of Highway 8 in the Steelville School District.
Steelville R-3 School District has three seats open, each holds a three-year term.
Unable to get in contact with the City of Steelville, but they have four seats open, including the mayor, city marshal, Alderman Ward 1 and Alderman Ward 2.
Filings must be submitted before Dec. 30 at 5 p.m. for most entities to declare candidacy. Make sure to confirm with the local entity before filing.
