The Crawford County Historical Society (CCHS) continues the monthly speaker series with October events. This month, the CCHS presents two speakers sessions.
On Wednesday, October 8 at noon Elizabeth Olwig of the Missouri Route 66 Association, will present the significance of the upcoming Route 66 centennial. Olwig will share how Missouri’s Route 66 history is part of the Americana road-trip experience.
Olwig is a strong advocate for preservation and brings Route 66 alive on the pages of the Missouri Route 66 Association magazine.
On Wednesday, October 15 at noon Jim and Jill Barnett, long-time Cuba residents, will present a heartfelt talk and tribute to the late Marge Fleming and Fleming Manufacturing.
The Barnetts will share stories and encourage discussion on the impact the Fleming family brought to Cuba.
CCHS Speaker Series events are free and open to the public. Lunch is available to attendees. The museum is located at 308 N. Smith Street in Cuba.
