There are at least two illusions that Americans accept as true: that Las Vegas is going to make them a fortune and that the Democrats social promises are going to become reality.
Take for example the promises made by the governor of Virgina before the election. She was not going to raise taxes and she would not attempt to redistrict to favor the Democrats. Both were lies. After the election she proceeded to do just the opposite.
Another illusion among New Yorkers is that by taxing the rich, they will solve all their financial problems. Socialism is another name for communism. Communism has failed in every country with no exception. If this were not true, why haven’t people like AOC not moved to a communist country?
Making promises is easy but many socialists know that they are illusions.
