James Lewis Licklider

James Lewis Licklider of Owensville, Missouri was born June 5, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri to Solomon and Ida Mae (Pinnell) Licklider and passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the age of 84 years.

On July 8, 1967 he married Connie Mae Fuchs in Owensville, Missouri.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator and eventually started his own business, Licklider Excavating and Heavy Equipment Repair in Owensville, Missouri.

He was baptized at First Christian Church in Owensville.

His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and dancing. He enjoyed being with his children and attending the volleyball and basketball games of his grandchildren. He enjoyed fried fish and ice cream. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Ida Mae Licklider.

He is survived by his wife, Connie of Owensville, Missouri; children, John Licklider and wife Terry of Cuba, Missouri and Cindy Licklider of Owasso, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Perry Ratcliff and friend Elena of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rachel Strauser and husband Griffin of Sullivan, Missouri and Casey Licklider of Cuba, Missouri; great grandson, Clay Michael Strauser; siblings, Lloyd Licklider and wife Betty, Juanita Horstman and husband Fred, Charles Licklider and wife Marilyn and Kathy Stack and husband Corky; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held Saturday, March 14 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Gary Mace officiating. 

His cremains were interred in Licklider Cemetery at Jake’s Prairie.
