John Thomas Lowery of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to John Thomas Lowery and Alberta Lee Lowery and passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 19 days.
He attended Ritenour High School.
He worked on the assembly line for General Motors before retiring.
On July 23, 1956, he married Janet Lee McAdams in St. Louis, Missouri.
He enjoyed the outdoors, boating and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alberta Lowery; parents-in-law, Bud and Edna Mae McAdams; wife, Janet Lowery; siblings, Jimmy (Marsha) Lowery, Joyce (Joe) Moeser, Joe Boy Lowery, Janet (Ronnie) Williams, Jean (Richard) Clubbe and Joan (Robert) Rice.
He is survived by three children, John P. Lowery of Florida, Patricia L. and husband Steve Brueggeman of O’Fallon, Missouri and Jeffrey A. Lowery of Cuba, Missouri; grandchildren, Kristi and husband Brent Kotschedoff, Kimberly and husband Nick Hopper, Kathy and husband Jason Varner, Nicholas and wife Emily Brueggeman, Abbey Brueggeman, Jeffrey Lowery, Justin Lowery and Alyssa Lowery; great grandchildren, Ava, Patrick, Brooks, Brady, Carter, Kaitlyn, Kelsey and Andrew; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Gene Roark officiating.
