Joyce A. Hanks of Steelville, Missouri was born on Jan. 17, 1948 in Keysville, Missouri and passed away on Dec. 20, 2025 at the age of 77 years.
Joyce married Earl J. “Brigg” Hanks on Sept. 17, 1988 in Steelville, Missouri.
She graduated from Steelville High School Class of 1965.
She worked at Brown Shoe Company, as a legal secretary at Woodward & Paulus Law Firm and most recently at Bell & Bell Law Firm.
She enjoyed people watching and attending concerts and shows at the Meramec Music Theatre.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Edith (Dicus) Hardin; husband, Earl J. “Brigg” Hanks; siblings, Danny Hardin, Clarence Eugene (Geraldine) Dicus, Donald and Dewayne Hardin; and grandchildren, Richard White Jr., Rebecca Wild and Earl Junior Wheeler Hanks.
She is survived by her children, Donna (David) Chandler-Hanks of Steelville, Missouri, Lisa (Heath) Wells of Edgar Springs, Missouri, Kimberly (Patrick) Wild of Leasburg, Missouri, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Doug) Bennett of Keno, Oregon, Kevin Ware of Fulton, Missouri and Lloyd (Christine) McKenna and Shawn (Donna) McKenna of Prophetstown, Illinois; grandchildren, David “DJ” Hanks, Daniel Hanks, Heather (Jorge) White, Tyler (Stormey) Wells, Alexis (Kevin) Moore, Andrea Wild, Ashlee Wild, Joey Wild, Dominic Wild, Michael (Sarah) Bennett and Krystle Ransom; siblings, Sandy (Earney) Zulpo of Rosati, Missouri, Joe (Barb) Hardin of Union, Missouri, Dennis (Vivian) Hardin of Steelville, Missouri, Jeannette Wisdom of Steelville, Missouri and Jerry Hardin of Cuba, Missouri; 10 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Prayer service was held at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025 followed by visitation from 2-5 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri with Father Mark Smith as the celebrant.
Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.
