The St. James High softball squad finished 0-2 in the Hermann Tournament, held Saturday, Oct. 4.
The Lady Tigers lost to host Hermann 25-7 and were shut out by Mark Twain 21-0. Hermann won the event, beating Mark Twain 10-8 in eight innings in the other game.
Also last week, St. James lost a Four Rivers Conference game at Sullivan 13-0 Tuesday, Sept. 30 and fell to Lebanon 18-3 Friday, Oct. 3 at Nelson Hart Park. STJ also lost the junior varsity games, 18-7 to Sullivan and 12-3 to Lebanon.
That left the varsity Lady Tigers 4-15 overall and 0-5 in the FRC. The STJ jayvee team is 2-7-2.
This week St. James was scheduled to host Newburg Monday, Oct. 6; play at Hermann Tuesday, Oct. 7, and host Crocker Thursday, Oct. 9 at Nelson Hart Park (4:30 p.m.).

Hermann 25, STJ 7: The Hermann Lady Bearcats plated five runs in the top of the first inning and led the rest of the way, adding two in the second, five in the third and erupting for 13 runs in the fourth. St. James got five runs in the bottom of the second and two in the third. The game was stopped after four innings due to the time limit.
Hermann outhit St. James 13-2. MacKenzie Carroll and Lillian Snelson each had a hit for STJ; Addalye Felan had an RBI and scored twice; Kirrah Drennan and Raegan Witt each drove in a run, and Millicent Hartley, Baylee Jones, Macy McCurdy and Brooke Williams all scored a run. Snelson and Witt pitched for STJ.
Mark Twain 21, STJ 0: Mark Twain scored 11 runs in the top of the first, seven in the second and three in the third. The game was stopped after three innings. St. James had just one hit, by Madison Shields. Drennan, Jones and Warren all pitched for the Lady Tigers.
Oct. 3 - Lebanon 18, STJ 3: Lebanon got five runs in the top of the first base, two in the third, six in the fourth and five in the fifth. St. James tallied two runs in the first and one in the second. Lebanon outhit STJ 11-3. Snelson got a double and single for the Lady Tigers while Hope Pierce had a hit and RBI; Drennan and Elisa Bierman each drove in a run, and Williams, Shields and Macy McCurdy all scored a run. Snelson and Witt pitched for STJ.
Sept. 30 - Sullivan 13, STJ 0: Sullivan’s Rae Corwin threw a five-inning two-hitter at St. James, walking one and fanning nine. The Lady Eagles got two runs in the bottom of the first inning, three in the second, one in the third and seven in the fourth. Drennan and Snelson had the Lady Tiger hits. Snelson worked four innings in the pitching circle.
