The St. James High School girls’ basketball team was to compete in a rugged field at the Marquette High School Tournament, to be held Monday through Friday, Dec. 1-5.
In scheduled first-round games Monday, it was St. James vs. Ursuline, Lafayette vs. Fort Zumwalt West, Marquette vs. Clayton and St. Joseph Academy vs. Orchard Farm.
The St. James/Ursuline was a rematch of last season’s thrilling Class 4 Sectional playoff game won by the Lady Tigers 52-50 in St. James.
The St. James Lady Tigers were to play again in the tourney Wednesday, Dec. 3 - at 4 p.m. in consolation play if they lose Monday or at 7 p.m. in the semifinals if they win on Monday.
Friday, Dec. 5, the seventh-place game is slated for 4 p.m., the fifth-place game for 5:30 p.m., the third place game for 8:30 p.m. and the championship game for 7 p.m.
St. James enters the tournament with a 0-1 record after losing to Capital City in the Rolla Blue Fish Shootout.
