Larry Dean Heiner of Sullivan, Missouri was born on Dec. 19, 1953 in Pratt, Kansas to Lewis “Stormy” and Christine (Devenport) Heiner and passed away on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026 at the age of 72 years.

He was raised primarily in Edmond, Oklahoma, and graduated from Edmond High School. Larry went on to attend Boise State University on a wrestling scholarship.

He married Carol Willis on Dec. 3, 1983.

The family lived in Oklahoma for several years before moving to Sullivan in Dec. of 1986, when Larry accepted a position managing the Sullivan Country Club. After several years at the country club, Larry opened his own appraisal business, H&H Appraisals.

Larry was an avid golfer and spent many years playing with friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed pheasant hunting and running bird dogs, as well as trail riding. He especially enjoyed deer camp with his son-in-law, Mike, and his grandsons.

During the winter months, when he wasn’t on the golf course, he could often be found playing pinochle with his golfing buddies. He was a fan of 80s rock and roll and could often be found rooting for the Oklahoma Sooners and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Larry was a good cook, and ribeyes were one of his specialties.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis “Stormy” and Christine Heiner.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Heiner of Sullivan, Missouri; children, Dani Tyree and husband Mike of Bourbon, Missouri and Scott Heiner and Karen Yesensky; two grandsons, Lane Tyree and wife Sierra of Bourbon, Missouri and Kyle Tyree of St. Robert, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Hope, Aurora and Savanah Tyree; siblings, Steve “Stormy” Heiner of Okarche, Oklahoma and Linda Fitzgerald of Sullivan, Missouri; relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
